Sebastian Prodl is using his World Cup disappointment as fuel to continue his playing career with Watford.
For the 30-year-old, his country's inability to qualify made him think he would never get a chance to play in the tournament.
But the defender has now focused his attention on continuing to play in the Premier League.
"It was a big disappointment. We struggled in our group but there was still a chance until the end, but we missed out," he said.
"Unfortunately, it is most likely, I won't attend a World Cup in my career. I played at the Under-20 World Cup and always wanted to go to a World Cup.
"Now I am looking forward with the new coach and new team, so that I can get another chance to attend a tournament in 2020.
"I still want to be part of the team as long as there is competition, I feel comfortable and can compete with my team-mates."
