Watford defender Craig Cathcart can't see former club Manchester United returning to the stability of Sir Alex Ferguson's era.
United have gone through David Moyes and Louis van Gaal since Fergie retired in 2013 — and now Jose Mourinho is under the cosh.
Cathcart said: “That's the way football's gone, the old way of management is dying out a bit.
“Fergie left and David Gill left at the same time. They're massive for that club, they grew it themselves basically. It's obviously left a big hole.
“I can't see anyone staying in a job that length of time now. It's cut-throat, a results business nowadays.
“Mourinho's a top manager, I'm sure he'll get the best out of the team."
