Watford defender Brice Dja Djedje arrested in France

Watford defender Brice Dja Djedje was arrested on Thursday night.

The Sun reports Dja Djedje has been arrested - after being accused of domestic violence.

The Ivory Coast international, a £3million Hornets buy from Marseille in 2016, is currently on loan to Ligue 2 club Lens.

But the 27-year-old reportedly spent Thursday night in the cells at Arras police station after cops seized him at his flat in the northern French town.

Reports claim worried neighbours rang police after hearing a heated confrontation between Dja Djedje and his girlfriend at the property on Arras' main square Grand-Place.

Multiple sources confirmed that the player had been arrested, and prosecutors have opened an enquiry.

Both Watford and Lens have declined to comment.
