Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores has hopes of adding Genoa winger Diego Perotti to his squad.
The two clubs have agreed terms, but Perotti is yet to be convinced.
The Sunday Mirror says Perotti has been weighing up a Vicarage Road move for the last fortnight but is stalling, as he favours staying in Serie A with Napoli.
Wideman Pablo Sarabia, of the new Watford manager's previous club Getafe, remains on the radar - whether Perotti joins or not.
Flores wants to be reunited with Sarabia, who has less than a year left on his contract, in a cut-price £2m deal.
Granada defender Allan Nyom is also flying in for talks, while Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede is also on their shopping list.
