Watford boss Billy McKinlay is backing Kit Symons for the fulltime Fulham job.
Symons is being tipped for the job on a permanent basis after owner Shahid Khan appointed a five-man panel to help find a new boss after Magath's disastrous spell in charge.
That would be welcome news to McKinlay, who spent a decade as a coach at Craven Cottage before leaving last season and is now in charge at Watford. McKinlay said: "I was at Fulham's 4-0 win against Bolton [on Wednesday] and they were outstanding.
"I think Kit is making a very good case for the job and I don't see any reason why, if he continues like that, they would look anywhere else."
