Watford boss Malky Mackay is delighted over their success with Premier League loan signings.
It can be revealed that Aston Villa left-back Luke Young was eager to go to Vicarage Road on loan, only for injuries to force his club to stop the move.
Mackay told the London Evening Standard: "We like to think that the word had gone out far and wide how we treat loan signings and virtually insure they go back to their parent clubs as better players than when they left.
"Tom Cleverley at Manchester United and Arsenal's Henri Lansbury were cases in point last season and we're proud they developed as England Under-21 players with us."
