Watford boss Gracia assures Gray he's in his plans

Watford boss Javi Gracia has assured Andre Gray he's in his plans.

The summer signing from Burnley is unlikely to face his former side on Saturday given that he has started just one game under Javier Gracia – in the FA Cup defeat at Southampton.

"It's because we have other strikers," said Gracia. “At the moment we play Troy Deeney, sometimes we play Stefan Okaka.

“So far he didn't play, but I think he has a very good attitude, and maybe in the next game or other games he will have a chance to play.

“It's not easy to choose because I have good players. Today we trained with 45 players plus keepers, so it's not easy to choose.

“I always decide the best for the team. At the moment we are playing more games with one striker than two, and I look for the balance of the team.

“I try to choose the player who is in the best moment. I know he is a good player, but at this moment he is waiting for a chance to play.

“Next season, we will see – not only about Andre, but also other players. But for me, I can tell you he is a good player."
