Watford boss Dyche doesn't want to lose Newcastle target Mariappa

Watford boss Sean Dyche doesn't expect to lose defender Adrian Mariappa.

Newcastle United are interested in signing Mariappa, but Dyche is not resigned to losing the centre-back just yet ahead of Tuesday's transfer deadline.

"We like what he does at this club and there is no decision to make at the moment," Dyche said.

"There is talk of loads of clubs being interested which in a way is a positive for us because we like to think we are a club that develops and improves players."
