Watford ace Vydra hits double as Czechs down Armenia

Championship Player of the Year Matej Vydra celebrated his award won during the week by scoring a double for Czech Republic in their vital World Cup qualifying win over Armenia.

The Czechs won 3-0 in Yerevan to keep their hopes alive of producing a top-two finish in Group B as they now sit third on eight points from five matches, two points behind Bulgaria who have played six times.

20-year old Watford star Vydra, on loan from Udinese, headed his nation ahead in the 47th minute to open his senior international scoring account before doubling their advantage with nine minutes remaining with a brilliant turn and finish.

Daniel Kolar scored a late third goal for the Czechs who now have every chance of edging past Bulgaria on the table although it seems Italy may be out of reach as they sit on ten points from four matches ahead of tonight's meeting with Malta.
