Alexandre Pato was the star of the show as Villarreal kicked off their Europa League campaign with a victory on Thursday night.

The Brazilian forward, who had a difficult time on loan at Chelsea last season, scored a cracker and provided a dazzling assist as the Yellow Submarine came from behind to defeat FC Zurich 2-1 at El Madrigal.

Former AC Milan and Sao Paulo star Pato, 26, joined Villarreal from Corinthians in July and has quickly asserted himself under Fran Escriba.

All three goals on the night, scored by Armando Sadiku, Pato and Jonathan dos Santos, were of the highest quality.
