WATCH: Arsenal ace Alexis stars as Chile down Venezuela

Alexis Sanchez starred for Chile in 2018 World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.

The Arsenal star scored once, set up another and provided one assist as the South American champions defeated Venezuela 3-1 in Santiago.

Sanchez opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a delightful free-kick before a clever run saw him play in Charles Aranguiz who cut back for Esteban Paredes to slot home.

On 22 minutes, Alexis started another attacking run which resulted in him heading into the path of Paredes for his second.

Venezuela pulled one back through West Bromwich Albion's Salomon Rondon in the 63rd minute but the damager had already been done as Juan Antonio Pizzi's La Roja moved into fourth place in CONMEBOL qualifying.

Chile have 23 points from 14 matches, seven behind leaders Brazil, one in arrears of second-placed Colombia and equal with third-placed Uruguay.
