Warren Joyce’s Wigan will have ‘special motivation’ against Man Utd - Mourinho

Jose Mourinho says the focus of Manchester United must now be on the weekend's FA Cup clash with Wigan Athletic.

The Red Devils qualified for the EFL Cup final with a 3-2 aggregate win over Hull City despite Thursday night's second-leg defeat at the KCOM Stadium.

With a cup final at Wembley now locked in, Mourinho has urged that all attention goes onto his team's preparation for Sunday's fourth-round home meeting with the Latics who are managed by former United reserves coach Warren Joyce.

"It's another difficult game against Wigan," he told MUTV.

"They didn't play, they are fresh, preparing and will be ready with special motivation for Warren [Joyce] and his players.

"Now we go home, it'll take three hours to arrive, and have to prepare again.

"We will change some players and give some opportunities, some fresh legs to the team and, hopefully, we can do it."
