Warnock urges QPR to focus on consolidating in Championship

Former QPR manager Neil Warnock believes that the club should forget about promotion and instead should concentrate on consolidating their status in the Championship.

The R's finished bottom in the Premier League last season meaning they will again compete in England's second tier where Warnock suggests they should stabilise before setting their sights on the top flight yet again.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, he said: "QPR's main priority has got to be consolidation next season, they haven't got much chance of going up for me.

"The Championship is a tough old league, so Chris Ramsey and Les Ferdinand have got to find players who have the hunger and desire to play for the club first and foremost.

"They've then got to make sure they have enough quality within the squad to compete in that league."
