Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock fears chairman Simon Jordan will sell up after losing John Bostock to Tottenham.
He wanted £5m for the player who was still 15 when he made his first-team debut in October.
Warnock said: "I've never seen Simon as disillusioned as I did last week over the Bostock affair.
"He's enthusiastic about Palace but he feels utterly saddened by football.
"He was devastated, rock-bottom and he's questioning himself, saying 'I don't know whether I want to be involved in the game any more if it's like this'.
"I think that he's being serious."
