Robert Snodgrass deserves to be the highest wage-earner at Leeds because of his status at the club, says boss Neil Warnock. Scotland international Snodgrass, who has a year left on his current contract at Elland Road, has yet to commit himself after being offered a lucrative new deal by the Championship club.
Warnock said: "We made a special offer to Snods because he's a special player for Leeds at the minute, he's been here a long time, he's seen a lot of his team-mates depart and I felt straightaway we have to offer him what I think is a top-rate contract to keep a lad for 12 months. That's all I've asked him to do and I'm still optimistic on that."
