21-year old midfielder Collen Warner grabbed his first MLS start on the weekend as Real Salt Lake went down 1-0 to Columbus Crew.
The draftee managed just over an hour in his full debut and received praise from head coach Jason Kreis who bought him in for regular starter Nelson Gonzalez.
"Nelson has come in and done the job for us, but he was also in a team that hadn't gotten results," said Kreis. "We have more players that we feel good about than we have positions on the field, so it was no knock on Nelson it was just time to give the other kid a chance. And I think he did well tonight."
Warner was pleased with how he performed although he admitted being part of a winning team would have been nice.
"It was great. I definitely had a good time, would've liked to get the win," said Warner. "I thought I played pretty well, didn't have that many mistakes."
