Wellington Phoenix recruit Nick Ward is enjoying somewhat of a renaissance with his new club.
The 25-year old former Queens Park Rangers man joined the Phoenix from Melbourne Victory just three weeks ago but has already made a favourable impression in New Zealand.
Ward made his debut off the bench in the 2-1 loss to Perth Glory in Week 5 but was given a starting opportunity the following match and produced a cracking winner to help see off Sydney FC at Westpac Stadium.
Wednesday night saw Ward return to Melbourne to take on his old colleagues and he performed with aplomb in central midfield and was close to scoring on a number of occasions.
It seems he has fit in well at his new home and his performances during Week 6 of the 2010/11 A-League season earned him a tribalfootball.com Team of the Week selection.
