Ward believes Wolves team-mate Doyle has Premiership pedigree

Stephen Ward believes Wolves leading scorer Kevin Doyle will have become a target for the leading sides in the Premier League. The Republic Of Ireland striker has fitted effectively into the lone striking role after Wolves boss Mick McCarthy opted to switch from a 4-4-2 formation last month.

Ward said: "I think Kevin has been brilliant all season - but especially during the last few weeks when he has played the role on his own upfront. I'm a bit biased but I don't see many playing it better than him. He leads the line so well and he is so strong and willing.

"He is a player that will be vital in the run-in because of the way he is playing. He is causing top class defences problems and has been different class."

Ward added: "There is no limit to where Kevin can go. I wouldn't be surprised if clubs at the top end of the Premier League are keeping an eye on him because his performances have been superb of late."
