Ward adamant Wolves can still beat drop

Wolves skipper Stephen Ward insists they can still beat the drop.

The disastrous 3-2 home defeat by Bolton at the weekend leaves boss Terry Connor's basement boys six points adrift of second-bottom Wigan.

But Ward said: "It's going to be tough, and it's not looking good for us, but we will keep going.

"Of course, it will be the best achievement yet if we do stay up now.

"If we are to go down, then we'll make sure we go down fighting.

"We were in a similar stage last season - about six points behind - and we ended up staying up, so you just never know where your results are going to come from.

"The problem for us is we're running out of games to get a win and we need one soon."
