Manchester United are seeking talks with wantaway Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

Kicker says United will have to battle Spanish clubs to land former Manchester City player Boateng.

The German international is open to a move away from Bayern Munich this summer, however he would reportedly prefer a move to Spain.

The report suggest Boateng is searching for a fresh career challenge after the World Cup following his seven years with the Bavarian giants.

Bayern's CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, confirmed earlier this week that the 29-year-old would be allowed to leave the club this summer if a reasonable offer comes in.
