The wife and agent of Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi is studying Chelsea's offer tabled this week.

AS says the Blues have attempted to beat Real Madrid to the punch having tabled a £55m offer for the Argentine.

Italian journalist Fernando Czyz also confirmed that Icardi's wife and agent, Wanda Nara, has received the offer.

The Premier League club spent £60m on Alvaro Morata but are yet to see a return on their investment, the Spaniard finding the net just once since the turn of the year.

Inter are expected to reject the bid, which is said to have been made as more of a statement of intent rather than a serious offer.
