Walters hails spirit inside Stoke camp

Jon Walters has hailed the team morale at Stoke City.

The former Ipswich Town captain has settled quickly at the Potteries.

"I've done pretty well and settled in nicely," he told Stoke's website. "I'm working hard on and off the pitch and settling into the team. Getting everything sorted off the pitch helps on it and the people at the club, the backroom staff, have helped me to do that.

"If you can settle off the pitch, just as I have, then everything on the pitch suddenly falls into place. Everyone has made me feel unbelievably welcome here, and you can see by the smile on my face how happy I am to be a part of this football club."

He added: "Everyone is buzzing here, and the lads heads never drop, that is what struck me. When we lost three games at the start of the season, no one panicked and everyone was the same in the dressing room as they are now after winning four of the last five games. It's a special place in there."
