Wallace wants Sunderland stay

Ross Wallace wants to stay with Sunderland.

The Scottish winger was put on the transfer list by Keane in January and days later suffered a knee injury which has kept him out for over three months.

"It was probably the worst week of my career so far - transfer-listed and then picking up a serious injury!" Wallace told the Sunderland Echo. "It wasn't good at all, but you just have to deal with these things.

"It was a surprise when I was put on the transfer list, but the manager is paid to make those decisions.

"And it was a bad time to get injured because I just wanted to get my head down in training and try to change the manager's mind.

"But I'm fit now and I hope I get a second chance because I want to stay here, but that's up to the manager, of course."
