Wallace hopes for Sunderland stay

Ross Wallace hopes to stay at Sunderland.

The Scottish winger remains transfer-listed and his agent Tony McGill told The Journal: "Even at this stage of the summer there has been a lot of interest in Ross from plenty of clubs at a good level.

"But until Sunderland accept a bid he remains a Sunderland player and he would be happy to stay if the manager decides that he wants him to be part of his plans and there is a chance of playing next season.

"Likewise, Ross wants to play football, and if that is not possible at Sunderland then his future may lie elsewhere.

"As for the immediate future, we have to wait until the club accept a suitable offer for Ross before any decision is made."
