Walker pleads with Tottenham boss to give him first team chance

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is being urged by Kyle Walker to hand him a regular starting spot this season. The defender impressed in a loan spell for Aston Villa last season after failing to force his way into first team contention at Spurs.

The 21 year old has made just three appearances for Spurs since joining from Sheffield United in July 2009 and he admits he is desperate to show Tottenham fans what he can do.

"I got a taste of it at Aston Villa, playing week in week out at Premier League level and I like to think that I've proved I can play Premier League football. Hopefully the gaffer can put his trust in me and play me," said Walker.

"Hopefully I can get in the squad and get a few games under my belt and see where it goes from there. I need to get a couple of games at Tottenham and show the gaffer and also the fans what I can do because they've seen very little so far."
