Walker hails Spurs boss Pochettino commitment to English talent

Tottenham fullback Kyle Walker is delighted with the faith manager Mauricio Pochettino is showing in English talent.

Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Harry Kane would all expect to be included in Pochettino's starting XI for a key game.

"It's good for English football and the national team," Walker, who has 10 caps for England, told the London Evening Standard. "With so much money in the Premier League, clubs just go and buy players, but fair play to the manager here.

"He has shown his trust in the young English players and other home-grown players here, like Nabil Bentaleb (an Algeria international). We've seen for a number of years that the young players here have ability.

"But it's about managers telling them they believe in them, giving them confidence and telling them to go out and play. This is a young side and hopefully we can keep building as all the players get older.

"There is a good core here and we can keep cracking on. If you've got the ability, why shouldn't you be given the chance? The manager did it when he was at Southampton. He put trust in young players and it paid off."
