Walker admits Spurs players lifted by Redknapp England rejection

Tottenham fullback Kyle Walker is happy manager Harry Redknapp is staying.

Redknapp was favorite for the England job before Roy Hodgson's appointment last week.

Walker is happy that there are no more distractions.

"It's a big thing," Walker told the London Evening Standard. "It's upped the tempo in training and there is relief, really, and it's something off our shoulders. It was always over everyone's heads but we still had to put it to the back of our minds.

"The gaffer has come in every day and has not changed. He has not changed anything, even though he is not getting the job. We just need to get the results to reward us at the end of the season.

"The England speculation was something people could have blamed for our form but that was down to the players on the pitch. We were the ones who needed to put in the performances."
