Rhys Williams is out of contract at the end of the season but despite a host of club's expressing an interest his agent confirms the 20 year old will stay at Middlesbrough.
Gary Williams said, "We believe they (Boro) want to offer Rhys him terms and we will be sitting down with them," Williams told skysports.com.
"There are teams interested, a couple of Premier League terms, but he is happy at Middlesbrough.
"He made the first team before he got injured and is pleased with how it is going."
Williams revealed that Boro even stopped the young defender going out on loan as they wanted to keep him.
"Burnley wanted him on loan, Owen Coyle said he would take him for as long as he could get him.
"But Boro said no as they wanted him for the first team and he was getting very close before he got injured."
