Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has stated that he does not feel the need to answer his critics.
Bale has come under a lot of criticism from Real fans as well as the Spanish media for his performances over the past few weeks and the winger has perhaps unfairly been made the scapegoat for Los Blancos' failings on the pitch in recent times.
However, Bale managed to leave his woes in Madrid behind by putting in a sensational performance in Wales' 3-0 victory over Israel on Saturday and following the game, the £85million man has gone on to state that rather than thinking about his critics, he is simply concentrating on matters on the pitch.
Bale said: "I don't need to answer the critics. I know, and everyone around me knows what I can do. I don't feel I need to prove anyone wrong or right, I just need to play my football.
"I love playing for Wales, it's a big honour and the most important thing is I focus on my football. I don't listen to anyone else or what they're saying. I am just enjoying my football with the boys."
