Wales coach John Toshack admits he could resign over the issue of player withdrawals.
Toshack regularly loses a dozen players from any squad he announces, and that had a detrimental effect on any chance of qualifying for the World Cup finals, Wales finishing fourth in their group.
Toshack told S4C TV: "We cannot possibly (keep) having the same ill fortune with withdrawals.
"If I thought the next two years regarding withdrawals would be the same as the last two, I would hand (the job) over to somebody else, to be honest."
In the last 12 months Toshack has seen Paul Parry, Carl Robinson, Carl Fletcher and Jason Koumas all quit the international scene.
Speaking on the retirements, Toshack added: "There's definitely not the same commitment (to international football) anymore - generally, not just in our situation.
"People can judge for themselves. If people want to retire, you thank them for what they've done and let them go. Simple as that."
