Walcott warns crocked Man Utd youngster Shaw to be patient

Arsenal star Theo Walcott has warned Luke Shaw not to make a rushed return from his serious injury.

Shaw suffered a horrific double leg break during Manchester United's Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven last month and it is believed that the defender will be out for the rest of the season due to the injury.

Shaw has made progress with his recovery in recent times but Walcott has warned the left-back not to push himself.

"It is important not to put a time frame on it," said the Arsenal striker who spent time on the sidelines with a knee injury last year.

"I was 11 months in the end and it is when you are ready.

"Callum Wilson has done his (ligaments), Luke Shaw has broken his leg. I think it is important for everyone to know they (experts) say six months, but you have to give people time and they will come back when they are ready. It could be six months if you are lucky, or nine, 10, 12 months.

"It takes time to come back to the same level from before you were out. I have worked hard to get where I am and I am happy. You just think you can go out there and do it, but after training sometimes you think, 'that was tough.' You just have to wait your time."
