Theo Walcott's representatives have met with Arsenal officials in regard to a new contract for the player.
The 23-year old forward is out of contract this summer and there has been plenty of speculation regarding his Gunners future but it appears as though he is one step closer to penning an extension.
Walcott netted a hat-trick in the weekend's 7-3 win over Newcastle United and hinted after that game that he was set to re-sign at the Emirates Stadium.
"I'm sure that something will be sorted very soon," he said.
"I've always said I wanted to stay and I enjoy playing for this team. Now we will just see what happens.
"I will continue to play my football and let the people who look after me and the club talk to each other and go from there."
