Waitrose continue sponsorship of Reading shirts

Supermarket chain Waitrose has extended its shirt sponsorship agreement with recently relegated Premier League side Reading, reports SportsPro. Waitrose has sponsored the Royals since 2008 and its logo will continue to adorn the team's home and away shirts until the summer of 2015 under the new deal.

Waitrose will continue to run special offers for Reading season ticket holders, as well as supplying food to players for away matches.

Waitrose's director of marketing Rupert Thomas said: "We have established an excellent relationship with the club, which has enabled us to bring our brand to new audiences both locally and nationally.

"Reading is a true family football club, which shares our same brand values, especially with regards to community engagement. We now look forward to seeing the club challenge for a quick return to the Premier League."

Reading's commercial director Pat Coyne added: "We are absolutely delighted that Waitrose has again extended its contract with us. We are looking forward to building on the successful partnership we have enjoyed over the past five seasons and are proud that our logos will continue to appear alongside one another on our shirts."
