Sunderland ace Wahbi Khazri is upset for the fans after defeat at Stoke City.

Joe Allen's double won Saturday's basement battle for Stoke and left the Wearside club as the only side in the top-flight without a win.

"The fans are amazing," said Khazri of the 3,000 who travelled from the North-east to the Potteries. "Since I came to Sunderland last season, the fans have been amazing every game.

"The team is not at the same level as the fans and we need the team to work to be the same as the fans.

"We need to stay together and we can get out of this situation together. The manager said we need to work hard every day.

"We have just two points after eight or nine games, it's too dangerous.

"It's different for him. When he was manager of Everton and Man United, he competed for the top places, not relegation and going into the Championship.

"We need to do this together, the manager and the team."
