Dutch club VVV Venlo say they are waiting for Celtic to make an official offer for Maya Yoshida.
The 24-year old Japanese defender has been recently watched by the Bhoys, both at the Olympics with the U23s and at club level against ADO Den Haag on the weekend, but have yet to make a bid.
VVV general manager Hans Soentjens suggests that Celtic have made their interest known and the club is now waiting to see if the Glaswegians do come in with an offer.
"Celtic have officially contacted us to make their serious interest known," Soentjens told the Sunday Mirror.
"We are now waiting for their offer."
