VVV Venlo chairman Hai Berden has confirmed the interest of Stoke City in striker Michael Uchebo.

Berden admits they want to sell the Nigerian in January as his contract is coming to an end.

"This interest is very serious," said Berden.

"He's done a lot in the Nigerian youth teams he's played in. And if a club like Stoke gives him a large salary, then we are not in a position to compete."
