AFC Bournemouth striker Sam Vokes is in advanced talks with Premiership side Newcastle United according to a local Newcastle paper.

Sam Vokes told the Echo on Saturday that he had not heard anything official from Newcastle.

"I saw it on Sky Sports News, That's the only place I've seen it. I haven't heard of it officially."

However the Newcastle Evening Chronicle now believe that the 18 year old is likely to complete a move worth around £250,000 with Vokes remaining at Dean Court next season on loan.

Aston Villa and Portsmouth have also been reported as showing an interest, while it is believed a bid from Championship side Burnley has already been rejected.
