Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar suggests he will be back in action for his club's next Premier League fixture.
The Holland centre-back has been sidelined since injuring his calf against Hull City on August 31 and although he will miss his nation's Euro2016 qualifiers this weekend, will return at club level on October 18 against Everton.
"My calf is improving all the time but I've already resigned myself to missing Holland's next two European Championship qualifiers," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"That would make the game against Everton at Goodison Park in two weeks' time my target for a comeback.
"It's so annoying to be missing crucial games against top sides."
Vlaar's injury has forced him to watch on from the sidelines for Villa's last four league matches which have come against Liverpool (1-0 win), Arsenal (3-0 home loss), Chelsea (3-0 away defeat) and Manchester City (2-0 reverse at home).
