Ron Vlaar has been offered a new contract by Aston Villa but admits he is unsure if he will sign.

The Dutch defender is out of contract this summer and although he is set to take a close look at the terms offered to him by Villa, he does have ambitions to move to a bigger club.

"I have it in consideration," Vlaar told FOX Sports.<> "I'll think about it. I want to maximise my career and think I can go a step higher."

The 30-year old centre-back joined Villa from Feyenoord in 2012.
