Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar is quietly confident of their survival chances.
Vlaar feels Villa are showing signs of improvement and will have gained confidence from back-to-back wins over Reading and QPR.
He said: "If you win games, that's where it all starts for confidence. They were very important wins against teams beneath us. We really needed it.
"I still have the feeling that it is getting better here every day. It's already been said here so many times about the age of the group.
"We have to improve, we still make mistakes and we're still learning. I said it many times that wins give confidence."
