Viviano agent: Arsenal talks kicked off in July

The agent of Palermo goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano admits his loan move to Arsenal had been a long time coming.

The Italy international signed for the Gunners on deadline day last week

However, Claudio Vigorelli revealed to Calciomercato.it: "We knew that Arsenal were looking for a goalkeeper, from July I was talking with the London club.

"They had other names on the list, such as Julio Cesar (QPR). In the end, with a little luck and conviction by Arsenal we were able to close the transfer on loan.

"How come he was not re-signed by Fiorentina? It's a question posed by everyone, including Arsenal and manager Wenger, who considers Viviano a reliable goalkeeper.

"Wenger used beautiful words for Emiliano and, in the end, it is also better that Fiorentina have made other choices."
