Vittorio Russo has been named new coach of Livorno.
The 70 year-old veteran has been placed in charge as Gennaro Ruotolo does not have the necessary qualifications to work in Serie A.
Ruotolo, who was promoted after acting as assistant manager to Leonardo Acori in Serie B last season, hasn't yet sat the exam and last week the authorities rejected his appeal to be given a temporary pass.
"Russo is a Coach of great experience and he will be the man picking the team with Ruotolo as his assistant," assured director of sport Nelso Ricci.
