Vitoria striker Balde set for Celtic move

VitoriaGuimaraes striker Amido Balde is on the verge of signing with Celtic.

The 22-year old, who has arrived in Glasgow ahead of a £1.8million move to the Scottish champions, was photographed with a Celtic scarf prior to the deal even being done.

Balde's advisor, former Crystal Palace and Chelsea striker Tommy Langley, told SunSport that the deal was close to being confirmed and that the Guinea-Bissau-born attacker would not be heading to the Premier League with the Eagles.

"Amido is very keen to sign for Celtic," he said.

"There are other clubs interested in him - but Crystal Palace is now a non-runner.

"At the end of the day he's here and we're trying to get the deal done at Celtic. That's the first priority.

"He wants to come here because it's a fantastic football club which plays in the Champions League.

"He's a very happy boy now that he's in Glasgow.

"He's got a couple of things to sort out - but he's very interested in coming here permanently."
