Sunderland are chasing Vitoria Guimarães striker Tomané.
Record says Sunderland scouts have been watching the Portugal U21 international this season and Vitoria expect a bid to arrive from the Wearsiders by Friday's deadline.
Tomané scored the winner against Olhanense last weekend.
Vitoria chiefs are now bracing themselves for an offer from Sunderland in the coming days.
