Vitesse chief De Wit: Chelsea relationship rock solid despite FIFA plans

Vitesse chief Joost de Wit is confident FIFA's plans to change the loan transfer laws won't affect their relationship with Chelsea.

This season, Vitesse have Eduardo, Jake Clarke-Salter and Charly Musonda on-loan from Chelsea.

"We have borrowed more players from Chelsea more often in recent years. Three, four and even five. That's right. That is now less.

"A club is still allowed to train plenty of talent and store it elsewhere. And that is precisely our market. We are not in the picture for players of the established order, such as a Romelu Lukaku or Kevin De Bruyne," De Wit told De Gelderlander.

"Vitesse is in the Eredivisie and that is a training competition. We have been loaning young players for years, who move on from the Chelsea Academy. Take Mason Mount or Lewis Baker. Jake Clarke-Salter also falls into that category.

"Eduardo and for example Matt Miazga are 'exceptions to the rule':" For us the changes are not too bad. Chelsea will have to set a course with players from the higher category."
