Mike Havenaar is reportedly close to a move to Dutch Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem.
The 24-year old Japan international is set to sign a three-year deal with the club as he prepares to depart Ventforet Kofu who were recently relegated from the J-League.
"We were the first club to track him and were the first to show a concrete interest.
"That said, Mike also really wanted to come to Vitesse.""We have been watching him for six months and we have been impressed," Vitesse technical director Ted van Leeuwen told Voetbal International.
Havenaar, whose Dutch father Dido came to Japan in 1986 to play with Mazda FC (now Sanfrecce Hiroshima), scored 17 goals in the J-League last season to finish second to Nagoya Grampus' Australian striker Josh Kennedy on the scoring table.
