Brisbane Roar winger Rocky Visconte put his name forward for a first team start with an electrifying performance in the National Youth League on Sunday.

The 20-year old former Heart of Midlothian midfielder was the catalyst for the Roar as they continued their dominance on the Youth League with a 3-0 win over Newcastle Jets at Spencer Park.

Visconte sparked many attacks for his side and was a handful for the Jets defence with his performance sure to make senior coach Ange Postecoglou consider him for Wednesday night's A-League clash with Perth Glory.

Roar youth team coach John Sime was full of praise for the speedy Adelaide-born left winger, who has made eight substitute appearances for the first team so far this season.

"He's an excellent footballer. His attitude and commitment is probably the best I've come across in my time in the game. It's up to Ange but he is right in contention [for a senior team position]," Sime said of Visconte.

Visconte had scored one goal in the first team this season and has often come on late in matches to provide a bit extra up front for the Roar.
