Vinnie Jones delighted for 'grounded' Leicester striker Vardy

Former Chelsea and Wimbledon midfielder Vinnie Jones is delighted for Leicester City star Jamie Vardy over his success.

Jones has hailed the former Fleetwood striker for not getting caught up in his own hype.

Jones told the Daily Star: "I'm really pleased with the way [Jamie] Vardy's kept his feet on the ground.

"The other lads seem like they're protecting him.

"The captain, probably not many people would remember him if you asked them, it's all about Vardy.

"And he's held it together very well.

"There's obviously an inner strength there.

"What they've done [Leicester] is a lot harder than what Wimbledon did. We did it over the course of a Cup run, they did it over the course of a season. But all the similarities are there.

"If you go back to the wages that everyone was on compared to us lot it was laughable.

"Maybe there was a bigger gap when we played but it was certainly a short run - they've had 38 games, Leicester have done absolutely fantastic.

"It's great that we still have fairy tales in the modern game."
