Vincenzo Montella has been named new coach of AC Milan.
The former Sampdoria coach has officially been appointed as Cristian Brocchi's replacement, and will start work on July 1.
“We start again with Montella," joint-CEO Galliani told MilanNews outside the club's headquarters.
“There's a lot of satisfaction, we believe we've made a good choice. Let's hope it goes well.
"When did we come up with the idea of Montella? I don't remember, I haven't eaten all day..."
A statement on the Diavolo's official website confirmed that the former striker will take over on the bench.
“Vincenzo Montella is our new Coach, he has signed a two-year contract which begins on July 1," a statement begins.
"It is the belief of the club that the style of play of the new Rossoneri Coach will be the basis of a fruitful and positive collaboration.
"A heartfelt thanks to Cristian Brocchi for the enthusiasm, preparation and intensity with which he approached his career as Milan Coach with the youth team, the Primavera and the first team."
