Vincenzo Montella says he's joining AC Milan with his eyes wide open.
The former Sampdoria coach made his move this week.
“As of tomorrow I'll officially be Milan's Coach," Montella told Premium Sport. “When there's a big change, there's always a lot of emotion going with it.
“As a child I used to dream of playing for Milan, but as I told Galliani, they never signed me. My idol was [Marco] Van Basten."
Montella was then asked about the transfer market, and what strategies the Rossoneri were looking to pursue.
“We all need to sit down, this week we'll start working. Our objective is to return to greatness in Italy and in Europe.
“It's a tough job but I'm convinced we'll make it. The difference is made by the players, so we need to get their performances to improve."
